esSpa LLLT Photo Therapy, PEMF and FIR Sauna
Scientific, Holistic Approaches to Youthful Skin and Body
Some places may call it IPL (Intense Pulsed LIght) some may call it PDT (PhotoDynamic Therapy) some may call it LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy) some may know it by a manufacturer's trade name (LightStim, Quasar, etc.) Regardless of what anyone calls it, the most important thing to understand about this therapy is that it does deliver real results. BUT, clinical studies have shown that the positive benefits are only achieved when utilizing a very specific wavelength of the light spectrum. For AntiAging and Joint Relief Treatments (IPL) the only wavelengths that have shown efficacy is a Red wavelength between 620-670nm (nanometers). For AntiAcne Treatments (PDT) clinical studies have shown that Blue light with a wavelength around 470-490nm delivers the best results. So before they turn the light on YOU, ask them what wavelength their lights use! BTW, studies on Yellow and Green wavelength light therapy are for hyperpigmentation and mood enhancement but studies have been inconclusive at best so far. There are two others item of importance in all the studies so far:
(1) The distance of the light source to the actual treatment area (the source needs to be as close as possible to be effective.)
(2) The typical "treatment area" is actually the subcutaneous layers of skin cells. In order for the short wavelength of light (we are talking about nanometers here) the light source needs to be powerful enough to penetrate the epidermis from whatever distance the light source is from the treatment area (i.e. the further the light source is from the treatment area, the stronger the wattage of the light is required.) Most PhotoTherapy devices on the market today use less than 6 watts of power, which literally provide zero tangible benefits. At esSpa, our devices use up to 152 watts of real, non-heat generating, delivery power. Our devices deliver a greater percentage of the required wavelength of light to the target area than any other non-prescription device (if any exist.)
If you would like to read the clinical details of how Red Light actually works, we invite you to visit the National Institute of Heath for more in depth studies.
(NOTE) It is important to state that you cannot effectively use traditional incandescent or halogen light sources for these treatments as the heat generated may severely damage tissue. Proper eyewear should also always be utilized during any Phototherapy treatment. Those prone to seizures, or any light sensitivity should NOT have this treatment. We do not recommend any PhotoTherapy Treatments if you are currently taking or have taken Accutane or certain other prescription medication in the recent past.
At esSpa Organic Hungarian Skincare and Salon we ONLY utilize LED light sources that are within the accepted wavelengths above (630nm, 660nm and 470nm). We use a variety of light systems to provide the best possible results for your specific requirements - whether you desire AntiAging, Anti-Acne, Joint Relief or even Hair Rejuvenation (yes, our light's wavelength have been clinically shown to help reduce hair loss) - with up to 152 watts of total power output. And our variety of devices provide esSpa with a choice of application methods - We have LED Masks, handheld spot treatment devices and larger, custom-made systems designed to treat larger areas of the body. All of these treatments can be delivered while you are comfortably relaxing on one of our heated, fully adjustable, memory-foam treatment beds. Or you can choose to enjoy your PhotoTherapy session in our computerized, full-body, zero-gravity massage recliner.
For something truly special, relaxing and rejuvenating, you can combine your PhotoTherapy Session with our PEMF (Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field) Body System or our Far Infared (F.I.R.) Sauna Table that uses organic, ceramic heat generators. Both of these other holistic, alternative therapies can also be scheduled independently for further overall body health and wellness. Please call (412) 782-3888 and ask for either Eva or Scott for further details about any of these advanced and results-oriented Modalities. You may also send an email to IPL@esspa.com.
These procedures are administered in a series of 4 to 6 treatment sessions, each lasting 20 to 30 minutes, spread out in 3-7 day intervals. The cost per treatment when purchased in a series represents a tremendous value. There is no recovery time and treatments provide a gradual, natural improvement from the first session. Very safe with excellent long-term results. Because the results commence from within the skin, the skin feels active, more alive, plump, and tight.
A highly respected Dermatologist described the advantage of Photo Rejuvination at a meeting of the American Academy of Dematology in March 2001:
"Medicine has yet to find a way to turn back time, but Photo Rejuvination makes it easier to look years younger in no time at all!"
This incredible approach to safe treatment utilizes the latest design and research using specific diode light wavelengths to promote the skin's natural beauty.
